Dr. Mohammad Auwal
Dr. Mohammad A. Auwal started his career as a Bangladesh Civil
Service [Information] official in 1984. He came to Ohio University
as a graduate student in 1990. Currently, he is an associate professor
in the Department of Communication Studies at California State University
Los Angeles. He teaches a variety of communication studies courses,
and his research interests includes issues in organizational communication,
international development, and media and public policy. In addition
to his professional
work, Dr. Auwal serves on the executive commitee of the Council
on American -Islamic Relations [CAIR] in Southern California, writes
commentaries for newspapers and web publications, plays an active
role in the local community. Dr. A. Auwal is invole in DAHUK's dawah
activites through internet and other media.
He and his wife Rezina Khanum have four children: Shatil (16),
Aumia (10),
Mohua (8), and Shamil (4).
